If like us, you have fully turned the red wine taps on at home.. we’ve had a lot of great new wines land over the past few weeks, this is just a quick look at whats arrived, what should be in your glasses & a few bottles that we’ve been enjoying ourselves..

Châteauneuf-du-Pape is a bargain at £40 (also available), but this is a bit more affordable and such a joy to drink, 100% Carignan, complex and intriguing, cherries and baking spices with great freshness, lamb Sunday roast anyone?

Organic since 1997, Bio since 2003, long time fav here, 2 hectares of pristine Syrah, Grenache & Mouverdre fruit, a bonafide bargain!

Cairanne 2023
Molly’s new favourite at a recent tasting, Richaud is famous for producing some of the finest organic wines in the southern Rhone, this is a great way into the wines, notes of red fruits, dark chocolate and spices, the tannins are soft and silky, and the mouthfeel is full and smooth, indulgent.

‘Pur C’ 2023
Not much to say here other than Karla told me off for ripping the cork on the second bottle last night.. delicious fruit, light and ethereal, cant wait for my third bottle very soon..

A firm favourite here for the past few years and the new vintage doesn’t disappoint.. a melting pot of bramble & plum fruit, round and juicy with nice structure to keep it lifted.

‘Ceci est un flacon de Vin de France’
A gorgeous red blend of Grenache, Syrah, Cinsault, Counoise and Mourvedre. It’s basically a Chateauneuf-du-Pape, but made from younger vines, with less time in oak, for earlier drinking. It’s beautifully polished, with dark plum and liquorice notes, dialled down from 10 to 8 in terms of bodyweight & alcohol, just how we like it.
