The new vintages of one of our favourite growers has just landed at long last!

So good that Lloyd is booked in for the Label to be tattooed on his leg.. if you were there you know the story..

If not, at a wine event we had last year, Lloyd decided it would be a good idea to agree to the tattoo if you lot bought all the wine we had from Marco, you obliged, that either means the wine is as epic as we think, or you want to inflict a bit of pain on Lloyd… No big deal, he adores the wine & the region and will wear the brand with passion.

Marco Ferrari - Certified Legend

Back last year we went to visit Marco, a wonderful character, greets us at his cellar door, rollie in mouth with another one being rolled at the same time, the coolest Persol sunglasses I’ve ever seen and Valtellina winemaker attire in full flow. He has an air of cool about him, as do his wines.

We first go for a drive to his vineyards in the Inferno Cru, spend some time in the vines talking biodynamics, viticulture and his vision for the wines, chomping at the bit to taste the wines we head to his cellar.

Now Marco is a pretty open guy & is more than happy for us to taste everything in the cellar, back vintages, current vintages, wines that are still in barrel. It feels quite a momentous occasion, the wines are really showing well, he has a energy that shows in the wines, but a humbleness that is also reflected in the wine, much like Marco the wines are pure, honest and generous. Our favourite wines of the week, Inferno 2021 was insane, the Rosso 2024 a beauty, glorious in fruit, tension and elegance. The 2023 single vineyard wines were in barrel and tasting epic, reminiscent of the cooler 21 vintage. we are chuffed to have them here now bottled.

The new vintages from Marco are available now, like most good things, we get less each year as these wines gain cult like status. Who knows, if this email generates enough sales, maybe we can brand Jo with the Valtellina valley also..
