At the foot of the fortified church of Hunawihr, the Mittnacht family has been crafting wines of exceptional character for three generations. Managed by two cousins Marc & Christophe, they decided to manage the vineyards with respect to the environment.
No synthetic products are used in the vineyard, there is great respect for the natural cycle of the vine and its terroir, harvesting and sorting are done entirely by hand, there is minimal intervention in the cellar, and no use of oenological products in order to best respect the quality of the grapes.
In 2019 the vineyards were split between the two cousins
Since then, Christophe has been cultivating his vines under the banner of the new Domaine Christophe Mittnacht, Terres d’etoiles, continuing the work begun with the same environmental focus.
Recognising that every bottle will eventually find its way onto a table – no matter where in the world – Domaine Christophe Mittnacht's primary objective is to produce gastronomic wines: present but not opulent, balanced and with a long finish, in order to respect, complement, and enhance cuisine.

Gyotaku 2024
‘Gyotaku’ is a Japanese term, which translates to ‘fish printing’ – a traditional Japanese art form that involves creating imprints of fish using ink and paper. It is a unique blend of three grape varieties. Pinot Blanc, Riesling, and Gewurztraminer. The wine showcases lively citrus and stone fruit flavours, along with a touch of floral and mineral notes
