It brings us much pleasure to offer the latest wines from Jose Gil, another fantastic release from the jewel in our crown, November saw my 5th year visiting Jose & Vicky to taste the new vintage, and with all Bias put aside, the wines were tasting better than ever, more open, more finessed and poised than ever before at their young age, this is a vintage that excites me very much!
Vintage Report
‘After a year with good rainfall in the vineyard and rather cool temperatures during the
summer, we had a harvest marked by several rains that required us to act quickly and
proactively to ensure precise harvesting and fruit quality. We harvested all the plots in a total of 8 days.
The vines produced small bunches with low yields of around 3500-4000 kg/ha. Special sensitivity and intense focus on every detail of the process were essential to craft wines with exceptional clarity, precision, and excellent balance on the palate.
This vintage reflects our increasingly meticulous work in the vineyard, followed by careful refinement in the winery, bringing us ever closer to those three words that always resonate in our winemaking souls: Balance, Finesse, and Terroir.’

2023 El Calado del Espino Blanco
Our exceptional Viura white wine, sourced from our vineyard in Labastida, located in San Ginés, is complemented by a plot in the El Bardallo area of San Vicente, both with a high limestone content. These are very old vines, with vibrant fruit and high potential, which we maximize by fermenting and aging in 500L casks and 54L demijohns in our medieval cellar, with the peace and quiet it deserves. This is the only wine from the 2023 vintage and has already spent a year in the bottle.
The nose is waxy with white floral notes, citrus and a hint of peach. The palate is silken, with seamless acidity and weight. The mid palate has perfect tension and a note of Mediterranean herbs.

2024 Viñedos En Labastida
Village wine made from two vineyards aged between 45 and 100 years old. Tempranillo, 30% Garnacha and a small percentage of white varieties, such as Viura and Palomino.
This Village Wine from Labastida draws its grapes for the first time from 3 hectares of very old vines (80-100years old). These vines boast diverse soils, altitudes, clones, and a high percentage of white grape varieties, resulting in a very serious wine that expresses the village in its purest form.

2024 Viñedos En San Vicente de la Sonsierra
A village wine made from fruit around San Vicente Village, Tempranillo & Garnacha and a small percentage of white varieties Viura & Garnacha Blanca.
This vintage sees the addition of another hectare of vineyards, three plots located at the foot of the Sierra Cantabria mountain range. One plot is planted with old vines near the village of Peciña, and the other two with Tempranillo, all in the La Canoca Valley. With this addition, we are further committed to raising the bar for our entry-level wine.

2024 Paraje El Bardallo
Year after year, El Bardallo demonstrates why it is the epitome of elegance in our village of San Vicente de la Sonsierra. The wild character of the surrounding mountains blends with the delicate character of the soil in a wine that leaves a subtle, vibrant, and harmonious finish.

2024 Paraje La Conoca
If there's one thing this 2024 La Canoca vineyard showcases, it's the definition, texture, and harmony of a pure Tempranillo from the Sonsierra region, nestled on three terraces below the village of Peciña. Here, we find all three possible orientations of the valley: North, East, and West, at an altitude of almost 700 meters.

2024 Camino de Ribas La Cóncova
Finally, our great Camino de Ribas vineyard shows us once again why location is the most important part of terroir. In 2024, we see even more finesse, balance, mystery, elegance, and layers from this great vineyard. A kaleidoscopic wine that changes every time we bring our glass to it. For us, the best Camino de Ribas to date.
